The Rag Place Inc. is an industry leader in the manufacture
and supply of set lighting technical fabrics for the motion
picture, television, and theatrical industries. We staff two
production floors, and have one of the largest rental stocks
in Hollywood.
Service has been the key to our success. All of our finished
rags come standard with grommets, ties and a storage bag in
the color of your choice. We work in partnership with our clients
to fulfill and surpass their needs and expectations. Anything
is possible, we have done a large 70’ x 350’ exterior
Blue Screen wall for “Gangs of New York”, and complex
full stage 3-wall coved ceiling bounces for “The Terminal”.
Along with standard sizes, we have the facility and manpower
to make any size you may require.
Not only do we offer the highest grade and quality products
supported by extensive research and testing, we continue to
develop new products that are innovative, versatile, and cost-effective.
Our Blue and Green Screen colors are specially formulated for
best results, and Industry standards like Ultrabounce, and
GelFab® are The Rag Place Inc. developments.
Pasquale Caputo, President. Coming to Hollywood in the early
80’s to work as a Grip, Pat’s worked on more than
20 “Studio” pictures including “Wild, Wild,
West,” and “Bram Stokers Dracula,” and “Strange
Days”, and several hundred commercials with vast knowledge
in lighting. With family in the textile business in New York,
Pat saw a clear need for better products and service in the ‘rag’ business.
He started The Rag Place over 16 years ago, working on the
side. With the extensive knowledge he had from being a grip,
The Rag Place quickly grew to become one of the largest motion
picture technical fabric suppliers in Hollywood. Pat is always
seeking new and better products to bring to the set that he
knows so well.
Our Staff includes a team of knowledgeable fabricators backed
by office support with years of dealing with the needs and
demands of the fast paced film business.
